Avon Protection, the respiratory and integrated protection unit of Avon Technologies, has been selected to provide FM50 respirators and FM61EU filters under a new European contract managed through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). Valued at approximately USD 20.6 million (EUR 17.54 million), the order is scheduled for delivery throughout FY2026 and FY2027.
This arrangement highlights the continued reliance on the NSPA’s 2020 framework contract, which centralizes acquisitions to harmonize technical standards and simplify distribution across allied nations. While the specific European nation remains unnamed, the use of the NSPA mechanism ensures interoperability and streamlined logistics for the end-user.
The FM50 is a conformal twin-filter CBRN respirator designed to sit close to the face. This dual-filter configuration offers high protection with low breathing resistance, improved comfort, and greater ease of weapon deployment compared to older designs.
For Avon Protection, this award reinforces its status as a leader in warfighter protection and sustains critical industrial capacity. For European defense planners, it delivers assured access to operationally proven, certified respiratory protection capable of meeting the demands of a heightened global threat environment.
