SkyeBrowse has rolled out a substantial platform overhaul aimed at turning short, continuous video captures—rather than large photo sets—into quickly actionable 3D scenes. The company positions videogrammetry as a time-critical alternative to conventional drone photogrammetry, citing a typical workflow in which a drone completes an approximately two-minute orbit, uploads the data, and produces a model in a few minutes. SkyeBrowse also claims a material field logistics advantage through its Rapid Upload tool, compressing uploads by nearly an order of magnitude, which is relevant where cellular bandwidth and time-on-scene are limiting factors.
The most operationally significant addition is an “Import Custom 3D Model” capability, allowing users to place GLB or STL objects into a captured 3D environment, with control over units, rotation, scaling, and up to three composite layers. In civilian markets this supports construction and architectural visualization; in security and tactical planning contexts it supports rehearsal overlays such as proposed obstacles, staging areas, and route options placed directly into a spatially registered scene. At the top tier, users can attach multiple photos to a single annotation point, a feature aligned with evidence management and structured documentation.
SkyeBrowse is also explicitly broadening capture modalities beyond drones. The firm says roughly one in three models now originates from non-drone sources, highlighting body cameras, handheld 360 cameras (including native Insta360 support), and iPhone video, alongside an “Interior Mapping” toggle designed for indoor environments where GNSS-constrained drones are less practical. It is further pushing AI-assisted outputs that convert orthophotos into CAD-adjacent deliverables, claiming AI Site Plan can trace and export DXF in under a minute—shifting labour from hours to minutes plus cleanup.
Pricing has been reorganised into per-model tiers: Commercial (from $24.99/model), Pro (from $49.99/model) and Public Safety & Enterprise ($199/model/year), with the highest tier advertising 16K processing, 0.1-inch accuracy, CJIS compliance, Axon Evidence.com integration, AI moving-object removal, 100GB uploads, and five-year storage.
For European defence and public-safety stakeholders, the announcement underscores the rapid maturation of “video-first” 3D reconstruction and planning tools suited to DFR concepts, including SkyeBrowse’s stated trajectory toward near real-time model building during flight via a Paladin integration. The European implication is twofold: first, a potential reduction in time-to-insight for incident response, infrastructure assessment and base security; second, a heightened need for scrutiny of forensic admissibility, chain-of-custody, cloud residency, and interoperability with EU evidence and C2 ecosystems—particularly where US compliance frameworks (e.g., CJIS) do not map cleanly onto European regulatory and sovereign-cloud requirements.
